As part of our ongoing commitment to provide free theatre skills workshops to the community, we are thrilled that Brillig Theatre will be offering this Lecoq training workshop the morning before their show, Terry's: An American Tragedy About Cars, Customers and Selling Cars to Customers.
As Jacques Lecoq said, "tout bouge !" (everything moves)!
In this 2-hour workshop, award-nominated, Lecoq-trained company BRILLIG will guide participants through the foundations of the Lecoq training principles. In the first half of the workshop, we'll use exercises taught at the Jacques Lecoq School in France to focus on movement, gesture, space, and ensemble. The second half will focus on collaborative devising: participants will work in small groups, responding to a prompt to create an original piece of theatre! During the creation process, we hope participants will begin to synthesize the exercises we've shared with their own artistic interests and areas of expertise.
There is no age limit and no restrictions regarding physical ability. Every body can move, and everyone is welcome!"
