Weston-super-Mare is great family seaside resort with a huge sandy beach and donkeys in the summer. There's also an all-year-round safe-swimming beach at Marine Lake, where the water is always in even when the tide is out. There's also the dog walkers' favourite Uphill Beach which has amassed more than 23million views on Tik Tok and was crowned the UK's best dog walking beach in 2023. In addition, there's a lovely rocky cove at Anchor Head and the Windzone watersports and land yachting area at the South, or Royal Sands end of the beach.

Our Grand Pier is packed with rides, arcades and entertainment and we've also got the indoor Laser Quest centre, ten-pin bowling, donkeys on the beach in the summer, a childrens' water park, adventure high ropes and an indoor climbing wall.
Whisper it quietly because it is one of our best-kept secrets, but Weston-super-Mare makes a fantastic base for a walking holiday far away from the hordes who rush through to visit Devon and Cornwall. The town is wrapped by glorious countryside and many of the walks can be done without the need of a car. The stunning Mendip Hills are also nearby.
There is so much to do in Weston-super-Mare that you may want more than one day to do it. We've got Europe's biggest helicopter museum, an amazing outdoor gallery of street art, Banksy's pinwheel in our town museum, a superb beach, the Grand Pier with all its rides and entertainments, as well as great bars and restaurants.
Weston-super-Mare is brilliant for a night out. It's awash with great pubs from real ale pubs to sports bars and from karaoke and live music bars to gastro pubs and even a boozer crammed full of board games. It also has two theatres, two cinemas and two fringe theatres. There is also a vibrant live music scene and comedy circuit.

People come from all over the country to see the Weston-super-Mare carnival. It is the west country's answer to the Rio Carnival. Held in November each year, it features huge and extravagantly-decorated carts with thousands of bright lights on, putting on an exciting must-see FREE procession for thousands of spectators.
Rain doesn't have to stop play in Weston-super-Mare because we have got lots of indoor attractions. There's the Grand Pier with all its rides, games, Go-Karts, dodgems and arcades under one roof. We've got Europe's biggest helicopter museum where most of the exhibits are housed in a giant hangar, there's the indoor Clip 'n' Climb climbing centre with its Leap of Faith experience and the UK's largest vertical drop slide. There's also ten-pin bowling while Banksy's pinwheel is nice and dry in the town's museum. Alternatively, if you really want to escape the rain, venture deep underground into the caves at Wookey Hole or Cheddar.
With its massive sandy beach and plenty of attractions to keep the whole family entertained, Weston-super-Mare is sure to be a hit with those after a seaside break. Whether you want to enjoy a famous donkey ride along the beach, try local ice creams, play classic arcade games on the pier or wet your toes in the sea, Weston has everything you need for a traditional bucket-and-spade holiday.
Weston railway station is a short flat walk away from the town centre and the beach.
There is plenty of paid-for parking in Weston-super-Mare including on the beach parking as advised by attendants - imagine your childrens' excitement as you park the car complete with picnic hamper right on the sand. There's also a MIPermit app that you can download to pay for parking before your visit.
Weston is a really accessible seaside town. It has a two-mile long flat promenade which is excellent for mobility scooters and wheelchairs both of which can be hired in the town. There is also a free-to-hire beach wheelchair which means that wheelchair users can get onto the sand and enjoy a beach day with their families. Mobility scooters can be hired from Dalesway on Carlton Street which is close to the seafront.
BBQs are allowed on the beach, however they need to be raised off the ground and disposed of appropriately. Please ensure they are cold before disposing. BBQs are not permitted on parks across North Somerset.
There are several EV charging units in Weston-super-Mare and the surrounding North area so you don't have to worry that you won't have enough juice to get back home again.
