VisitEngland/AA Access Statements
Many tourism venues provide information on the accessibility of their facilities and services in the form of a written Access Statement, to help you ‘know before you go’. RADAR Keys
The RADAR National Key Scheme (NKS) provides special keys for disabled people to access locked public toilets and occasionally gates on public footpaths around the UK, including North Somerset.
You can purchase a key for £3.50 from Weston-super-Mare Library which is located in Weston-super-Mare Town Hall on Walliscote Grove Road, BS23 1UJ. Please note the library is closed on Sundays.

In addition, for people with more complex impairments, a Changing Place toilet is available in the Town Hall in Weston super-Mare, you will need to provide your own sling for hygiene. Please note this is not open on Sundays. Access via a ramp into the library entrance. There is also a Changing Places toilet at The Tropicana which is accessed by phone to obtain a code to open the door. This is open 7 days a week.
Wheelchair Hire
You can hire mobility scooters and wheelchairs for the day or if you’re staying for the week from the Dalesway Mobility Centre on Carlton Street alongside the Premier Inn and Dolphin Square. Call 01934 642002 to arrange your hire.
Beach wheelchair
We want everyone to enjoy our magnificent sandy beach and with North Somerset Council’s sand-ready Beach Wheelchair everybody can.
It is available rent-free from the Tropicana office on Marine Parade. Call 01934 888 888
The wheelchair is specially designed to help people with mobility difficulties and physical disabilities access the beach in Weston.
The beach wheelchair is available to rent for a two-hour session seven days a week between 10am and 4pm.
