Travelling to Weston-super-Mare couldn't be simpler as we're easily accessible by road, rail or air.
It's easy to get here by road, via the M5 coming from the north or the south and coming off at Junction 21; there's a central railway station, and we're just 15 miles from Bristol Airport. Within close proximity, and again with excellent transport links, you will find Bristol, Bath, Cardiff, Taunton and the well known Somerset resorts of Clevedon, Brean and Burnham-on-Sea. Weston-super-Mare is easily accessible by road and travelling to the county is an enjoyable and scenic journey, passing through beautiful countryside along the way. Weston was crowned the easiest place to park in the South West in a recent survey. Most of the parking is close to the town, seafront and all the attractions. The majority of the parking spots do come with a parking charge though and in some car parks the Mipermit app is an option. Parking on the beach at the Royal Sands end is another option but you must be guided by the parking attendants and follow the signs because wrongly-parked cars have been washed away by the incoming tide.
Weston-super-Mare is served by a reliable rail network between many of the UK’s principal towns and local railway stations throughout the country. Great Western Railway operates direct trains from London Paddington, Birmingham New Street and Cardiff Central. Weston-super-Mare also has connections from Bath, Bristol and Plymouth on Great Western Railway services.
Bristol Airport is less than an 45 minutes drive away. If you are arriving at London Gatwick or London Heathrow airports, you can get a connecting train or coach, or it is a 2-3 hour drive, so Weston-super-Mare is easy to get to from anywhere in the world.
Getting around in Weston-super-Mare once you're here couldn’t be simpler. It is well served with bus routes but most of the main sights and attractions are all within walking distance.
With a long and flat promenade, wheelchair users are able to enjoy all the seafront amenities and if you haven’t brought a wheelchair with you, Dalesway, in the town centre, offer an excellent hire service.
Two bus companies, First Bus and Badgerline, serve the town. Several of the routes stop at the railway station. Many of the bus routes stop on the road adjacent to the seafront while there is also a new interchange in the town centre. Here's a handy link to the bus services
The very popular Coaster service which links the neighbouring beaches of Sand Bay and Burnham turns into an open top service during the summer while the seasonal 126 service makes day trips to picturesque Wells and Cheddar simple, while also serving Weston’s helicopter museum.
If you prefer doing things under your own steam, cyclists can take advantage of the eight-mile-long Brean Down Cycle Way.
