About

Weston-super-Mare is a seaside resort, located on the Bristol Channel coast at the gateway to the South West of England and boasts one of the longest and naturally occurring beaches in the UK; it is a long, sandy beach that has a large tidal range.

Tens of thousands of tourists flock to Weston each month to enjoy the golden sands, and in the winter, the beach is still popular with walkers and those who wish to brave outdoor water sports and kite surfing, which is a very popular activity carried out at the Uphill Sands end of the beach.

Many events are held on Weston-super-Mare beach and seafront throughout the year, which include the Pro Nationals, Weston Beach Race, Weston-super-Mare Air Festival and music concerts and events which have, in the past, included T4 On The Beach, Corona SunSets and South West Live.

In addition to the sand and sea, Weston-super-Mare beach has many traditional seaside occupations to offer: donkey rides, children's rides, the Grand Pier, The Bay Cafe, located at the former iconic Tropicana Lido, which was home to Banksy's Dismaland exhibition during the summer of 2015, bringing thousands of national and international visitors to the resort.

Weston has lots of opportunities for cups of tea, traditioinal seaside fish & chips, candy floss, donuts and ice-cream. With a wealth of restaurants and eateries offering a varierty of international cuisine along the seafront and in the town centre - just a five minute walk from the seafront.

There are also many beach front shops that sell postcards, kites, buckets and spades all well positioned along the clean and tidy promenade. Please consider beach pollution by leaving the area clean and tidy. Unwanted buckets and spades can be donated to the Visitor Information Centre to be reused by school trips and disdvanataged children visiting Weston-super-Mare. The local council keep the beach clean and local amenities up to full service to ensure that everyone's visit will be remembered fondly.
