Weston-super-Mare is a Proud and welcoming town for all its visitors. It holds a number of LGBT events throughout the year as well as its much-celebrated Beautifully Proud Month, which is usually held in June.
With its growing student population and many LGBT+vfriendly venues, Weston has been a regular host of Pride events. In addition to the big events, there are also regular get-togethers, forums and chat benches on a weekly basis.
North Somerset LGBT+Forum
With so much going on, it's no surprise that the North Somerset LGBT+Forum have made 68 Meadow Street, Weston-super-Mare their home. The charity is a voluntary organisation with the aim of providing a voice for the LGBT+ community to ensure that North Somerset is a friendly and welcoming place for all. The Forum holds and promotes a number of events including:
Fifty Plus
50+ is a weekly drop-in session that takes place every Monday at the forum's HQ on Meadow Street between 3-5pm. It is for any LGBT+ community members aged 50 or over. Attendance is free and there is no need to book.
Family Plus
Family+ is a weekly drop-in session that takes place every Wednesday at our HQ on Meadow Street between 3-5pm. It is drop-in for teenagers and young adults who identify as LGBT+ and/or neurodivergent, to socialise with others. It is also an opportunity for parents, guardians, carers and relatives to ask questions in a safe space. Attendance is free and there is no need to book, so come on down!
Trans Plus
Trans+ is a weekly drop-in session every Friday at the Forum's Meadow Street base, taking place between 3-5pm. It is for any community members who identify as transgender, non-binary or are perhaps questioning their gender. Attendance is free and there is no need to book. The group use 'trans' as an umbrella term for those who are transgender, non-binary, genderqueer, genderfluid, agender, are of non-Western gender identities and those who have a trans history.
Coffee, Cake & Chatter
Join the team every Sunday at the NSLGBT+ Forum HQ on Meadow Street between 12-4pm for a cuppa and a chat! Everyone is welcome to pop by and nab some noms, and find out what we're up to!
Gayme
Gayme is a monthly board game night that takes place on the last Sunday of the month at the Bridging The Gap Together! hub on Meadow Street, from 5-8pm. The venue is fully accessible and entry is free. Simply turn up on the night.
