Beautifully Proud is back and bigger than ever!

Weston-super-Mare Town Council, in partnership with a wide range of community organisations – including North Somerset LGBT+ Forum, Weston Business Improvement District (BID), Weston Independent Market, Weston Museum, Blakehay Theatre, and The Front Room, to name a few – have curated a dynamic programme of events running through May, June, and July to celebrate Pride Month. We are going to shine a light on what our town has to offer the community year-round and showcase the support available in our great town.

As part of Beautifully Proud, Weston-super-Mare Town Council will be joining in with the celebrations and flying the Pride flag. The Weston BID team will be working with local businesses to actively promote their venues as welcoming and inclusive spaces for all. Those who sign up to the scheme will receive a sticker to proudly display to their customers showing their support of a more inclusive Weston-super-Mare.

Weston's award-winning fringe theatre, Front Room, will be the hub of queer entertainment this Pride season — bringing the laughs with critically acclaimed LGBTQ+ comedians, hosting the launch of Weston’s bold new alternative drag night Drag Mince, and welcoming back The Good Old Gays for their third instalment of adult queer variety at its best.

On 29th June, Beautifully Proud culminates in two headline events. The Weston Independent Market will host a special Pride edition at the Italian Gardens, featuring over 40 of the South West’s best artisan traders. That evening, the Blakehay Theatre welcomes the sensational La Voix, star of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, for an intimate night of live performance and glamour. With only a few tickets remaining, this is your last chance to catch one of the UK’s finest drag performers live in Weston.
