Get creative and join the fun! Inspired by Levantes Dance Theatre's HUG, coming to Whirligig 26, artists from Weston Artspace and Community Scrapstore North Somerset are teaming up to bring you a playful, hands-on family workshop, where cuddly toys get in on the action.
HUG is a big, pink, joyful embrace of an outdoor show bursting with bold visual design, charismatic dance, and circus. Created by an award-winning, female-led company with a diverse international ensemble, HUG blends aerial dance and physical theatre to explore the ups and downs of friendship with warmth, tension, and joy and culminating in a breathtaking sway pole finale.
Taking inspiration from this vibrant world, this workshop gives pre-loved cuddly toys a new lease of life by transforming them into groovy outfits and accessories – perfect for wearing at the Whirligig Festival of Outdoor Arts (or anywhere you want to stand out!).
