About Us
Rex Bartholomew brings his internationally-renowned, award-winning, world-famous circus to the grandest of venues. Except that he doesn’t because a clerical error means the circus performers have gone to the wrong address and are 100 miles away.
The only people left in the company are Rex himself and his put-upon stagehand Darren…so the two of them will have to put on the show themselves and do all the juggling, fire-eating, lion-taming, bullet-catching, the lot.
Expect mishaps, squirting water, custard pies, audience participation and a cameo from Leslie the Lion, in this vibrant family comedy about a circus that goes very wrong.
Written by Stewart Wright who is best known for his roles in Doc Martin, Bridget Jones’s Diary, Small Axe, Smack the Pony, and Upstart Crow. His journey into self-produced theatre began during the pandemic when he brought shows to the doorsteps of Bristol with BS3 Santa, eventually leading to nationwide success. Now, he’s bringing his creativity to the circus with this ambitious new performance.
