Say Hallo to Halloween...if you dare
There's loads going on for Halloween - including what is being billed as the most terrifying haunted attraction in the south west. The question is: Are you brave enough to be a part of it? Click on the red links to discover more.
Puxton Park has sent out a chilling warning that it will bring your worst nightmares to life when Puxton Phobia takes over the normally tranquil park on October 24th-27th, 2024. The park will be transformed to include five haunted attractions including a Haunted Tractor Ride, which is a hayride from hell which willl have you begging for mercy. Then there's the Dolls House where your childhood nightmares come back to life. Or Ayslum where sinister inmates with malevolent eyes lurk in the shadows, waiting to pounce. Then there's the Freak Show where you will step into a world of hallucinations and insanity as your childhood fears of clowns and all things hellish are rudely awakened. Prepare for a sensory overload which will leave you questioning your own sanity. And finally there's The Dark Wood where behind the trees lurking in the shadows creatures are watching your every move, sensing your fear, and waiting to unleash their terror. Participants must be at least 12 years old, Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult and people with certain health conditions and pregnant women are advised not to sign up.
There's a zombie outbreak at Mendip Activity Centre - and you're invited to take up arms whether it be air with rifles, arrows or axes as part of the Zombie Response Team. Are you brave enough to take on the challenge?
All archery, air rifle, axe throwing, archery active and tobogganing sessions between 4th October - 3rd November 2024 are Halloween themed The tobogganing is for Under 12s where fancy dress is encouraged and trick or treats are on hand.
There's cinema - then there's cinema outdoors in the dark
Watching a horror movie in your home, or in a warm cinema with lots of of other people is one thing. But how about watching a scary movie outside and in the dark? That's the challenge from Scream Outdoor Cinema who are inviting you to join them at Clevedon Hall for a screening of the Halloween classic SCREAM!
Halloween at the Grand Pier is always a special event and this year's looks even better. Weston's famous Grand Pier is promising a week of spooktacular entertainment from October 26 to November 3. Visitors will be able to meet The Wicked Witch of Weston and discover her magical potions and cauldron. There's also the chance to take Broomstick Flying Lessons! Or, for a scarily good deal, you could buy a £15 wristband and enjoy unlimited rides on the pier as well as getting all Halloween fun included as well as attractions like the House of Horrors.
Pumpkin Patch at Puxton Park
Puxton Park's Pumpkin Patch, opens on October 5, 2024 and has more than 40,000 pumpkins to choose from. It's free to enter but it does cost to pick the pumpkins. The patch will be open from 10am to 4pm.
Pumpkin Patch at Noah's Ark Zoo Farm
Noah's Ark Zoo Farm's pumpkins have been grown in nutrient-rich elephant and rhino poo! Will that make them bigger and better than all the rest? Find out at Pumpkinfest at Noah's Ark Zoo Farm from 1st October - 3rd November. Enjoy a family-friendly adventure filled with pumpkins, scavenger hunts, and the magic of nature.
Meet the Witch of Wookey Hole
Halloween starts early at Wookey Hole Caves where The Witch of Wookey Hole has been conjuring up special tricks and treats ready for your visit. Wookey's Halloween activities start early with weekeds from October 6 and then everyday from October 26 until November 3. Visitors will be able to meet the Witch of Wookey Hole, explore the legendary caves, solve the Giant Pumpkin trail mystery and hunt Halloween treats, experience the 4D cinema, enjoy a Ghost Pirates Circus show – exclusive to Wookey Hole - and take part in daily fancy dress competitions.

Fireworks and Bonfire Night
Fireworks are extra special in Weston-super-Mare and the Fireworks at Sea show pulls in crowds from all around. In addition to that blockbuster event, there are several other displays you can find in our What's on Calendar.
The Grand Pier loves a good fireworks display and wow, they certainly put on a good one - so make sure Friday, October 25th, 2024 is in your diary. Fireworks at Sea is a spectacular freebie for most - watching from anywhere on the prom - but for the best views and and an extra special night you can buy tickets to be on the pier itself with food, rides and entertainment.
There are plenty of other fireworks displays you can see as well including Fireworks On The Hill which is a new display at Clevedon Cricket Club. Banwell Football Club are hosting a Bonfire and fireworks night
Puxton Park are holding their Sparkle & Shimmer Fireworks Show on Saturday, 9th November 2024 which is a dazzling display filled with magical, quieter fireworks that will whoosh, shimmer, and shine across the sky—perfect for families and anyone who enjoys a gentler display. The entrance ticket also includes entry to the park and its attractions.
