Halloween Fest WsM Quarry Weston

About Us

Weston Town Council has been given kind permission by Weston Civic Society and the team at Weston Quarry to put on events at the Quarry. Starting this Halloween with WsM Halloween Fest. With three events over two days, this will be a safe and spooky Halloween festival with food outlets and freaky fun for all the family.

Friday night 30th October gates open 6.00 the film showing is 7.00 for 'The Shining' outdoor cinema event.

On Saturday 31st October get the kids dressed up in their best Halloween rags for a Halloween experience. We will have two socially distanced sessions. Gates open 12.00 and at 2.30. Take a walk (try not to run!) around the experience in the quarry with fire juggling, scary hula hoop girl, a giant blood sucking fly, Zomba (like Zumba but with fewer limbs!), Titch the T-Rex and ten scare actors and pumpkins.

In the evening the outside cinema will be showing 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show'. Gates open 6.00 the film showing is 7.00.

You're advised to bring warm clothing and something to sit on for the cinema.
All events are ticketed entry, and advance sales only, for socially distancing with a maximum of 6 people per bubble.

Please note that 'The Shining' is rated 15 and 'Rocky Horror Picture Show' is 12A rated.

The quarry will have a perfect lighting design for a spooky evening, creating atmosphere and intrigue. There will also be food vans at all of the events.
The town council has created a production company called 'Ever Forward' from the motto on the crest of the town. The company is made up of Blakehay Theatre, Weston Museum and the Water Park all of which are Town Council assets. During this time of COVID when many events have been cancelled the Town Council wanted to find a way for us to have events to look forward and enjoy whilst still keep safe.
This is the first of several upcoming events at the quarry including a 'Christmas at the Quarry' event and a show for history week in the new year.

The Town Clerk Malcolm Nicholson says 'The quarry is such a fantastic asset for outside events and a perfect place for a spooky Halloween event. We are delighted to be given the opportunity and hope people will come and enjoy the event.'

The site is owned by North Somerset Council and managed by Weston-super-Mare Civic Society. The directors of the Civic Society have given Weston-super-Mare Town Council permission to run events on their site. The site has had many similar events on their site in the past and Weston Town Council and its assets are excited to be able to bring outdoor events through this collaboration at this time of COVID.
