Be impressed by the Living History skills, skirmishes and weapons demonstrations of the mighty Taunton Garrison. Step back in time all weekend on the South Lawn.It is the Summer of 1588, Queen Elizabeth I is on the throne. England is threatened by a great fleet sent from Spain - the Spanish Armada.
All over the country the local Trayned Bands are mustering to prepare to resist the Spanish. The Trayned Bands are part time soldiers who are mobilised when danger threatens - these part time soldiers are all that stands in the way of a highly trained and experienced Spanish Army, if it were to reach land.
Come and see Taunton Garrison prepare to defend her shores against the Spanish foe.
