About Us

2019 marks the 60 year anniversary of Ashton Court being purchased by Bristol City Council and becoming a mansion for the people. To celebrate Artspace Lifespace is opening the doors of Ashton Court with a free heritage family day out.

Free Entry to the ground floor exhibition showing the history of the house and vision from the future from six Bristol primary schools and artist Amy Hutchings with Show of Strength Theatre, Games on the South Lawn and a performance from Opera Sulis.

If you have photos of your time at Ashton Court, please bring them along to be digitised and immortalised in the Bristol Archives. A ticketed evening ball with live music and DJs playing swing and jazz from the 1920s to 1940s commences at 8pm with dance workshops from 8.30pm-9pm.

Our free daytime activities will conclude with a performance from Opera Sulis in the Music Room.
