About Us
On Saturday 06th of June the Town Council and Royal British Legion will be hosting a “Poppy Picnic” in Grove Park which is sure to get the community together! The Poppy Picnic is an event to help raise money for the Royal British Legion. All the money raised through Poppy Picnics will go towards the Legion's welfare work with service men and women of all ages, and their families. These vital services help veterans from the Second World War who are now struggling to make ends meet and service men and women from more recent conflicts such as Iraq and Afghanistan and their families. (Taken from RBL Website)
The Town Council and Royal British Legion want everyone to bring a picnic and join in the fun!
The event starts at 11.00am with the RAFA band performing from 1.30pm in the newly refurbished bandstand. There will be Face Painting, a Bouncy Castle and many stalls for people to browse through.
The event is not to be missed and something for the entire family and people of all ages to enjoy!
Malcolm Nicholson, Town Clerk, said “the Town Council is proud to be supporting the Royal British Legion who do so much good work for those who have served our country in conflict and their families.”
