About Us
Join award winning poets Rhiannon Hooson and Emma van Woerkom for an evening of thought provoking poetry. We are excited to announce that they will be debuting an exciting selection of new work at Weston Literature Festival, as well as an array of their favourite pieces.There will be an open bar, book signing and plenty of opportunity to talk to the poets after the performance.
Dr Rhiannon Hooson has won major awards for her work, including an Eric Gregory award from the Society of Authors, and her work has been featured in the Guardian. Her first full length collection, The Other City, was shortlisted for the Wales Book of the Year award, and was described by the judges as "Stunning... at a pitch of achievement many of us will not reach across a career."
Emma van Woerkom is a Poet, Poetry Film Maker, a fully trained Shared Reading Facilitator. Winner of the 2015 Richard Booth Prize for Non Fiction, her poetry pamphlet FOUND ME: Blackout Poetry, was Shortlisted for a Saboteur Award Best Poetry Pamphlet 2017.
She has performed at literature festivals and venues across the UK including Swindon Poetry Festival and the Hay festival.
