Great Weston Ride from Bristol to Weston-super-Mare

About Us

Welcome to the 2018 Great Weston Ride, a fabulous 57-mile challenge bike ride from Bristol to Weston-super-Mare that follows a spectacular route through the Mendips and across the Somerset Levels.

Start

The Ride sets off from Long Ashton Park & Ride where there is an abundance of free parking and safe drop-off areas, and riders are able to depart between 8am and 9.30am (although registration opens from 7.30am for anyone who wants to arrive early).

Depending on final numbers, riders will set off in small groups approximately 1-2 minutes apart.  Inevitably, there's likely to be a bit of a queue/wait to set off, however there's absolutely no rush with the GWR and anyone who prefers a more 'relaxed' start is welcome (and advised) to join the start line nearer 9am.

Finish

The Ride finishes 57 miles later on the seafront in Weston-super-Mare and it's hoped that riders will encourage family and friends to come along and help them to celebrate their achievement by cheering them across the line.

There's plenty of open space at the finish on the Beach Lawns and supporters are very welcome - the more the merrier!  There will be food and bar facilities available to everyone at the finish area, and these are for the exclusive use of Ride participants and their supporters.
