About Us
Weston College’s free local history course is an interesting and engaging look at Weston’s history, delivered by local councillor and historian John Crockford-Hawley.
This course is specifically designed for adults as a fun, fascinating and informative course.
You’ll uncover little-known historical facts and learn more about the local area. Weston-super-Mare was first settled in the Iron Age, and the town has a rich history to find out about.
You’ll learn about the town’s beginnings, right through its heyday as a British seaside resort, to the present day and the direction the town is heading in the future.
Over five weeks you’ll discover the town’s secrets, learn about its famous residents, and get to know like-minded people who also find Weston-super-Mare’s history interesting.
