About Us

The Artist's Apprentice Trail | Saturday 15th February onwards, 10am – 4pm
Follow in the footsteps of Coplestone Warre Bampfylde on our fascinating half term trail. Young artists will be able to create their own version of one of Coplestone's paintings whilst learning a little about his life along the way. When their masterpiece is complete, they will graduate as a Master Artist!

Family Craft Day | Tuesday 18th February, 10am – 3pm
Head to the Apple Loft to get creative!

17th Century Mill Day | Wednesday 19th February, 11am – 1pm
Meet our miller and watch them making flour while you learn about traditional milling process using turbine and waterwheel. See the wheel turning and experience the sounds and smells that would have filled the Mill Room all those years ago.

Make Your Own Pizza | Thursday 20th February, 12pm – 3pm
Join our team of Chefs in the Courtyard to make your own pizza which will be cooked on our own wood-fired oven.

Model Boating on the Mill Pond | Friday 21st February, 10am – 4pm
We'll be sailing some beautiful model boats on the Mill Pond and they'll be some small radio-controlled ones for you to have a go with too. No need to book – just come on down to the Pear Pond when you arrive at Hestercombe.

Enjoy getting out and about this half-term and explore over 50 acres at Hestercombe… beautiful gardens, wild woodland as well as lakes, cascades and temples. Make sure you stop off for a lunch, home-made cake or hot drink in the Stables Cafe after your adventuring!
