About Us
Based on 'Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats' by T. S. Eliot, Cats tells the story of a tribe of cats called the Jellicles and the night they make what is known as 'the Jellicle choice'; deciding which cat will ascend to the Heaviside Layer and come back to a new life. The first performance of Cats was in 1981 and it introduced the song 'Memory' to the world. It's travelled round the globe and been translated into 20 different languages. Weston Operatic Society is beyond excited to be staging its version of this epic production at Weston's beautiful Playhouse Theatre.Early booking much advised!
