Brean Down Santa Scramble 5/10K Race

Aspire Running Events Ltd are extremely proud to announce our 3rd Brean Down Santa Scramble. This event will be held on Sunday 3rd December, 2017 and will include a 5/10k race (1 loop 5k or 2 loop 10k).

Course description:

5/10k - Multi terrain – Hilly/Undulating

This event is canicross friendly.

10k – Adults (Children aged 15 and over can enter if accompanied by a responsible adult) – Santa Suits included in entry fee (Adult size only)
5k – Adults (Children aged 12 and over can enter if accompanied by a responsible adult) – Santa Suits included in entry fee (Adult size only)

Registration will open at 8:30am for you to collect race numbers/Santa Suits on the day. This will be held inside the house directly opposite the National Trust café.

This multi terrain 10/5k will start from near the foot of Brean Down ascending straight into a steep hill to the top. You will then be taken up and over the undulating hills with a gradual descent to the fort where the turnaround point will take you along the adjacent side and back to the finish. The 10k runners will then take on this enduring route for a 2nd time.

The route will again be marked out with eco – friendly white temporary spray paint arrows and orange way marker flags on the floor throughout the course, ensuring that Brean Down is preserved and not damaged in any way.

There will be 5/10k prizes for the following categories: Male and Female 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall.This event will be race timed, fully marshalled and First aid will be in attendance throughout. There will be a half way water/nibble table for the 10k runners.

The finishers table will be laden with our usual treats, including fruit, sweets and cakes.
