About Us
Sharon Jacksties has been an oral traditional storyteller for over thirty years. Performing in venues as diverse as The National Theatre, leaky bus shelters and for street children in Bangalore, she also teaches storytelling and runs all kinds of projects with storytelling at their core.
'A Sense of Place' will focus on the Somerset stories which welcomed her to her adopted county many years ago. Researching and unpacking these, rather than all the cardboard boxes, she was inspired to write her first folk tales collection, dedicating each chapter to one of Somerset's natural landscapes. Our workshop will explore ways of bringing Nature's places to life within a story, whilst telling the traditional tales that make Somerset so special.
The workshop will be followed by 'Somerset's Secret Stories' a full length storytelling performance, age advice from 12 years
