Exciting news for visitors and residents in Weston-super-Mare as our Visitor Information Centre reopens for the 2019 season on Saturday 6th April.
The VIC - located next to the Tropicana on Marine Parade, will throw open its doors to the public at 10:00am on Saturday morning, where a team of friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff wait to offer a warm, Weston welcome.
The centre is stocked with informative leaflets and brochures as well as souvenirs, gifts and those essential beach supplies (because we can’t all remember everything, all of the time!) Many new lines have been added since the 2018 season including bespoke postcard designs – unique to the VIC and also popular favourites such as the Weston-super-Mare water bottle, a great solution to reduce single-use plastics when taking advantage of the centre’s FREE water cooler.
As well as things to buy, we’re also offering things to know; the centre staff can provide a wealth of information on local services including accommodation, attractions, bus timetables, dog-friendly places to visit and indoor ideas for those ‘occasional’ rainy days… We’re also the location of beachfront first aid provisions and the hub for lost children and lost property.
Tourism Manager, Caroline Darlington commented: ‘I’m confident that 2019 will be another amazing season in Weston-super-Mare, we have an excellent team in the VIC overseen by supervisor Dena Smart, and together we’re hoping to see an increase in our centre visitor numbers from 2018 of 45,000. There are some incredible events taking place in Weston this year, and it’s an exciting time to be at the forefront of tourism in the town. We look forward to welcoming as many visitors as possible and work very hard to continue providing the award-wining customer service we’re known for’.
The centre is open seven days a week from 10am until 4pm.
