Clevedon

Burnham
Catch the number 20 bus from Weston and you will be transported to Burnham-on-Sea - a town with three lighthouses, Britain's shortest pier and a leaning church.
Portishead
Portishead is a seaside town full of contrast with a vibrant marina, a heated outdoor swimming pool, boating lake, two quirky looking lighthouses and the Two Lighthouses Walk.

Wells
Stroll around Wells, the smallest city in England's smallest city and feel like you have arrived on a film set with its pretty streets, magnificent cathedral and the stunning Bishop's Palace and gardens. Make sure you bring your camera and look out for the swans in the moat around the palace.
Sand Bay
Sand Bay is a large and unspoilt beach just two miles north of Weston-super-Mare and a real favourite with dog walkers for its all year-round dog walking policy.
Cheddar
Cheddar Gorge is one of Britain's most spectacular natural landmarks and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The Gorge boasts jaw-dropping cliffs and extraordinary subterranean stalactite show caves.
Uphill
The pretty village of Uphill with its cliffs, Marina, estuary, award-winning beach and peaceful countryside walks with a view can be reached on foot or bus from Weston-super-Mare.
Glastonbury
Don't miss Glastonbury with its Abbey, stunning Tor, pictured below and intriguing shops which make it a town like no other and you will soon see that there is so much more to this place than just its famous music festival.
Bristol
With direct trains from Weston-super-Mare to Bristol taking around half an hour, Bristol - with its iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge, Banksy artwork, the SS Great Britain and harbour front - makes for an easy and exciting day trip whatever the weather.

- The charming coastal town of Burnham-on-Sea is just a short bus ride away from Weston-super-Mare. It boasts three unique lighthouses, Britain’s shortest pier, a leaning church and a seven-mile sandy beach all the way to Brean Down passing the SS Nornen shipwreck on the way.
- Portishead’s position at the mouth of the Severn Estuary makes it a town of contrast. There's a cosmopolitan Marina, but there's also a traditional boating lake, an all-year round heated open-air pool and a striking arts and sculpture trail. Throw in two of the most peculiar-looking lighthouses you will see anywhere on the British coast and Portishead really does make for an excellent day out from Weston-super-Mare.
- Visit the picture postcard village of Uphill which is nestled on the outskirts of Weston-super-Mare. Admire its cliffs, award-winning beach, pretty estuary and Marina before climbing the viewing tower for stunning 360 degree views all across Somerset and out across Brean Down to Wales
- Clevedon is a must-visit charming seaside town just up the coast from Weston-super-Mare. It combines stunning landscapes, an iconic Victorian pier, the historic Curzon Cinema and a fine array of independent restaurants, cafes and shops as well as pretty walks and a large Marine Lake
- Cheddar Gorge is one of Britain's most spectacular must-see landmarks. Look up in awe at the jaw-dropping cliffs or descend deep underground into one of the show caves. And, before you leave, don't forget to pick up some famous Cheddar Cheese
