The wonderful Weston Bay has miles of broad, flat sandy beach which is perfect for your youngest kids and for all activites. The sea goes out and comes in a long way – the second highest tidal rise in the world.
Over the past 14 years the Weston-super-Mare Sand Sculpture Festival has celebrated Fairy Tales, The Continents of the World, Under the Ocean, Great Britain, The Jungle, Fun & Games, Hollywood, Once Upon a Time, The Best of 10 Years and When I Grow Up. The festival returned in April 2019 with 'What If?', but unfortunately did open in 2020 due to Covid. Fingers crossed they're back in 2021 to wow us with the incredible artworks - they definitely put our sandcastles to shame!
There’s more to a trip to the seaside than the beach at Weston-super-Mare thanks to the Water Adventure Play Park. The splash pads waterpark runs seasonally from April to September.
Weston-super-Mare hosts its very own 40 metre tall Observation Wheel right on the Weston seafront in the summer season. Offering breathtaking views across Weston bay and across the heart of Weston, a trip on the wheel is an absolute must for any visitor to the town.
From aerial climbing to the fast and furious slides, there is something for everyone at Puxton Park including an indoor adventure play zone with loads of fun features and a dedicated toddler area with ball pool. Outside visitors can enjoy mini golf, maze, giant fort, boating lake and JCB play diggers or get up close with the friendly farmyard animals.
The Blakehay Theatre is a community theatre in the centre of Weston-super-Mare. It is Weston’s best kept secret with an intimate feel with an audience size of just two hundred. The theatre operates as a live events venue, programming local and regional theatre, music and dance.
Following a two-year major refurbishment Weston Museum is open after a £1.6 million Heritage Lottery Fund and Town Council investment. Come and see the new galleries, showcasing Weston and North Somerset's wonderful heritage.
Weston-super-Mare's Grand Pier is home to a 14 rides, and attractions which include a 4D cinema and new Virtual Reality experiences. There are also a large selection of 500 traditional amusement-style and arcade games. For the little ones, there is an indoor soft play area, which also caters for children parties. Many events take place on Weston-super-Mare Pier throughout the year, including seasonal events such as Christmas parties and a Halloween Ball, as well as beer festivals, music concerts, murder mystery evenings and kids' events too.
A fantastic indoor climbing facility for the whole family. Have fun and get active, scaling a variety of climbing walls, challenges and games. If that all sounds a bit too energetic, sit back and enjoy a coffee and a bacon sandwich instead!
Court Farm is a working farm family attraction and visitors will be able to see the large amount of baby animals and enjoy the great range of play facilities, including indoor and outdoor play areas as well as the Maize Maze during the summer.
