One of the Uk’s wackiest seaside festivals

Saturday, August 22, 2026

Looking for something truly different? Get ready for one of the UK’s most delightfully quirky seaside spectacles. The Weston-super-Mare Seagull Festival is back – and it’s bigger, louder, and even more entertaining than ever.

An Unmissable Seaside Spectacle

Returning after a hugely successful debut in 2025, this one-of-a-kind event invites visitors to embrace Weston’s most famous feathered residents in the most hilarious way possible – by becoming them. It’s wacky, it’s fun, and it’s guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

Taking place at the Weston Museum, this lively, laughter-filled festival challenges participants to deliver their best, boldest, and most convincing seagull impersonation. Expect dramatic squawks, flapping arms, and plenty of seaside silliness in a competition that’s as entertaining to watch as it is to take part in.

Games, performers and defending champions

The 2026 festival has been expanded to include seagull-themed games, live performances and even more seaside silliness throughout the afternoon.
Adding to the spectacle will be The Kittiwake Border Morris, a seagull-themed Morris dancing troupe, who will lead a colourful procession from the iconic Carrot sculpture in Weston town centre to Weston Museum before entertaining festival-goers with their unique performances.

There are also fantastic prizes up for grabs, including family tickets to Puxton Park and games provided by Ginger Fox, giving competitors even more reason to perfect their squawk.
