About Us

During Easter 2019 Glastonbury Abbey presents the Glastonbury Abbey Medieval Fayre.

Let yourself be transported back in time as you enter Medieval Glastonbury during its annual Easter fayre.

April the 20th and 21st will see Knights, Ladies, jesters, storyteller, peasants, muscians, medieval encampments and a vast themed market decend upon Glastonbury Abbey and open up for you to come and visit.

With a range of activites for the whole family to watch and participate in, you can cheer on your favorite knight in our Grand Medieval Joust, try your hand at archery or just spend the day wandering and taking in the vast variety on offer from the medieval market.

Attending an Outdoor Event at Glastonbury Abbey:

Glastonbury Abbey is an outdoor event space and as such is open to the vagaries of the British weather. Our advice when attending an event at Glastonbury Abbey is that you should dress appropriately for the weather conditions and also be prepared for changes as the event progresses. Events held in the evening can become cold and/or damp with dew. For predicted rain please bring suitable wet weather clothing (not umbrellas).

The abbey becomes very dark after sunset and has many fall and trip points. We do our best with temporary lighting to illuminate areas of safety concern and exits from the abbey. It is advised to bring a personal torch to aid your exit from the abbey after sunset.
For your comfort you may bring a camp chair or picnic blanket as seating is generally not provided. You may bring your well behaved dog* as long as it is kept on a lead and doesn’t disrupt the event.
Gazebo’s and other large structures are not allowed to be used within the grounds of Glastonbury Abbey.

All events will go on as planned in all weather conditions unless that weather becomes unsafe.

Glastonbury Abbey is a licensed venue. If you are intoxicated upon arrival you may be refused entry. No antisocial behaviour or disrespect toward the site, the ruins, other visitors or staff will be tolerated.

*Not including the Glastonbury Extravaganza which has its own terms and conditions of entry.

This is a Glastonbury Abbey fundraising event, raising funds for the conservation and future care of Glastonbury Abbey for public benefit.
