Highlea House, previously known as Highlea Hotel, was purchased by Scott in 2018 who thoroughly enjoyed giving the property a complete makeover. Since taking over the property, he quickly established himself as one of the most genial hosts in Weston-super-Mare.
Set amongst a row of pretty guest houses on Upper Church Road, the entrance to Highlea House is on the level to the side of the building. There is limited on street parking, but the main car park is not far away and Scott will be pleased to give you directions.
More details
It’s a very short walk from the northern end of the Promenade so you’re not far from Weston-super-Mare’s huge, sandy beach and Marine Lake where there’s always sea water even when the tide is out. And of course, you’re only a few minutes away from the iconic Grand Pier and within strolling distance of an array of restaurants, bars and shops.
Highlea House is dog friendly, please book your pooch in advance.
There’s complimentary water and Tassimo coffee machines in all the rooms, along with free WiFi, freeview TV and nice little touches to make your stay enjoyable. Memory foam mattresses feature on all the beds and each room has a delightful en suite shower room.
There’s one ground floor room off the entrance hallway, opposite which there’s a super guest lounge where you can find a good selection of holiday reading. If you’re travelling as a group or family, it’s nice to know that there’s a lounge where you can sit and chat in comfort rather than being perched on the edge of a hotel room bed.
The light and airy breakfast room is on the lower ground floor and opens onto a patio garden. It is accessed by a staircase.
The bedrooms are all different sizes, due to the nature of the original Victorian house, but all offer the same facilities. There’s one large room with a side sea view that is the Superior Kingsized Bedroom, here you have the additional comfort of slippers and dressing gowns.
You’ll find lovely, fluffy towels in all the en suites.
