Thursday 14 March - Tuesday 26 March 2019Drinks Event Friday 15 March 6-9pm
The Artists will give a talk about their work on Wednesday 20 March at 7pm in the gallery
Paul Thirkell, Ian Shipton, Kari Nygard and Simon Taylor are practicing artists who teach on the Contemporary Art and Professional Studies FDA/ BA top up at UCW. For each, their practice is essential to their teaching, allowing valuable professional, real world insights to be integrated into the curriculum and shared with UCW students.
Inversely, each of the exhibiting artists find that the associated ongoing questioning and rethinking required to inform and facilitate student creativity is also inspirational in many ways to their own practices, keeping them vital and alive.
This exhibition reveals the diverse range of disciplines being covered by each of the CAPS tutors ranging from Ian Shipton's painting and sculptural work, Paul Thirkell's print and digitally mediated imaging output, Kari Nygard lens and film-based explorations and Simon Taylor's work with ceramics.
