U3A drama present ‘Chaos at Camelot’

Long ago, back in the mists of time, a great king arose who drew honourable knights to his court… brave men who sat around his Round Table. His name was Arthur and he and his knights became famous for their great deeds of valour. The names of Lancelot, Bedevere, Gawain and Galahad still resonate with us and tales of the Grail Quest continue to thrill even now in our 21st century, technological age.

The legends tell us Arthur died after defeating the forces of darkness at the great battle of Baden but… what if he didn’t die. What if he survived and grew old living in Camelot with Guinevere, his queen, surrounded by the courtly ladies we know from the stories.

But peaceful times rarely last and, inevitably, the social hierarchy fractures. Anarchy threatens to destroy the settled life of the Court. Can King Arthur, now a shadow of his former self, prevail against this new and unexpected challenge to his power?

A play written and directed by Patricia Main.
