SEagull Puppet Workshop

Make Your Own Squawking Seagull!

Get ready for Weston-super-Mare’s Seagull Festival 2026.

Join a FREE workshop and make your very own moving cardboard seagull head hand puppet! 
Using recycled cardboard and other repurposed materials, you’ll create a fun seagull with a moving beak that’s perfect for bringing along to the festival.

If you’d rather not do the screeching yourself, let your seagull do it for you! 
All materials are provided, and no experience is needed.

Weston Museum on the 6th August 10.30am – 12.30pm.

Join us at Weston Museum, home of the famous Seagull Screeching Competition, and make your puppet before heading off to enjoy the festival.

It’s the perfect way to get into the seaside spirit and create your own feathered festival companion.

If you can’t make it to the museum, there’s another opportunity at Weston Artspace at the Old Town Quarry.

Weston Artspace Cabin on 8th August 11.00am – 1.00pm.

Come and make your seagull puppet at Weston Artspace’s Cabin in the beautiful natural setting of the Old Town Quarry during the Quarry Open Day.

Alongside the workshop, there’ll be plenty of other creative and family-friendly activities to enjoy throughout the day.

Please note: This workshop involves cutting, gluing and assembling cardboard, so it is best suited to older children and is not suitable for very young children. 
Parents or carers must stay with their children throughout the session.

Booking is essential. Two sessions are available, with 10 places per session.
