About Us
There are currently three superb cottages in Somerset that you can book with Classic Cottages, who have over 45 years of experience as independent holiday cottage specialists and over 1,400 properties for you to choose from. We have selected this lovely shepherd's hut in Hutton, near to Weston-super-Mare to focus on, but the link will take you to their entire collection.
Fancy a self-catering holiday with a difference and one where the memories will last long after the postcards have got home?
Then try this beautifully presented and well-appointed shepherd’s hut in a delightful rural location – just two and a half miles away from all the attractions of Weston-super-Mare.
Here you will have the best of both worlds. Modern cosy facilities in a skillfuly converted hut in a glorious countryside setting, and all within easy reach of one of the south west’s best-loved and vibrant seaside towns.
Nobody will overlook you here in the secluded fields below the treeline where the Mendip Hills dip down to the coast. And when the sun goes down on the viewing platform – which on a clear day offers views across the Bristol Channel – snuggle up in a complementary blanket and gaze at the night sky through the Stargazer telescope.
The magic of the experience doesn’t stop there. You’ve got a hot tub in the garden and a pond with its own jetty for the perfect private getaway. Here you may be lucky enough to spot kingfishers as well as buzzards and ducks as you breathe in the countryside.
From the moment you arrive at the Lady’s Well Shepherd’s hut and you transfer your belongings into a golf buggy for the picturesque drive up the track and through the orchard, you will know you have arrived on a special holiday where comfort and cosiness are guaranteed.
It is a gorgeous getaway for a couple and a shepherd’s hut with a difference. Step inside to find an open plan living-room with a fully-equipped kitchen, dining room and bedroom areas off it. And, if the temperature dips, there is a woodburner and underfloor heating to keep you feeling snug. Even the logs are provided for your comfort.
There’s an ensuite shower room and heated towel rail, a proper flushing toilet, a king size bed which you may find difficult to climb out of in the morning because the views from the bedroom are stunning. It’s the perfect rural hideaway and an oasis of calm but if you do feel the need to stay in touch there’s 4G broadband as well as an electric charging point for your car.
If you want a break from cooking, it is just a short stroll of around a quarter-of-a-mile into the village of Hutton where there is a pub, shop and Chinese takeaway.
But the culinary options don’t stop there. Back at the hut there is a fire pit and barbecue for some al fresco dining.
There are also two other really attractive self-catering holiday cottages close by which come under the same umbrella. They also have that touch of character and class. There’s the eco-friendly two-bedroom all-on-one floor Old Barn with hot tub at Cherry Barn Farm near Glastonbury and the one-bedroom dog-friendly Ashey Barn on the edge of the Mendip Hills and close to the historic and beautiful city of Wells.
