About Us
Since the launch of the 'Cleaner Coastlines' Campaign with the Weston & Worle Mercury, Weston-super-Mare is on its way to achieving the 5 objectives required to be awarded Plastic Free Coastline status by Surfers Against Sewage.
1) The motion has been passed by the Town Council to support the campaign.
2) Weston-super-Mare Chamber of Commerce has set up a steering group and held their first meeting
3) Held one beach clean and one more to go.
4) Getting schools and community spaces and groups on board.
5) Start to sign up local businesses who remove 3 items of single-use plastic from their premises. We need 30 businesses to join to meet the requirement.
If you're looking for something to do between Christmas and the New Year please come and join us and help prevent even more plastic ending up in our oceans.
This time we will be meeting in the car park area at the Royal Sands end of the beach (BS23 4NH) at 10:00am hrs.
Equipment will be provided, but if you have your own gardening gloves and/or litter pickers you may wish to bring them along.
Any queries please contact Debbie - secretary@westonchamber.org.uk
We look forward to seeing you.
