About Us
The Weston Air Festival is a must-see event. Twinned with Armed Forces Day, it's a spectacular couple of days out with a huge number of flights over Weston's vast bay and can be viewed right along the promenade or from several indoor vantage points such as the Grand Pier and the new Revo Kitchen. This major event in Weston's calendar always draws thousands of people to visit. As well as enjoying the flying fun, there's plenty of time between the flights for you to enjoy everything that Weston has to offer. From trampolines on the beach to building your own sandcastles or enjoying some of the many cafes and restaurants, there's plenty of entertainment to fill your day.
Due to regulations from the Civil Aviation Authority, the flights must take place over the sea and there are restrictions for bathing or approaching the tideline. Please take heed of these as the aircraft are not permitted to fly over crowds.
The Armed Forces Day on the Saturday includes a procession along the Promenade, usually with military bands and veterans as well as serving armed forces personnel. This culminates in assembly on the beach lawns, where there are stalls and displays from a variety of divisions of the armed forces. Showing support for the Armed Forces provides a much valued morale boost for the troops and their families. You can find out more about what they are doing at home and around the world by visiting the official sites of the Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force.
So besides watching incredible aircraft, you can make a full weekend of it without any trouble finding something to fill your day. But do remember that hotels fill very quickly, so if you need accommodation it's best to book early to avoid disappointment.
