Experience an uplifting day of singing in the wonderful surroundings and acoustics of The Bishop’s Chapel at The Bishop’s Palace.
Anyone who has experienced the pleasure of singing together and in harmony will enjoy this workshop with its emphasis on traditional English Folk Song arranged by workshop leader Issy Emeney. Music reading ability is not necessary - although scores will be provided - as everything will be taught by ear.
About the workshop leader: Issy Emeney is a well known and highly respected figure on the national folk music scene. A top class melodeon player, composer and performer with four albums to her name, her songs have been covered and recorded by other well known folk musicians and are now firmly in the folk tradition.
In recent years, she has developed a particular interest in arranging English folk songs for choirs with a creativity and skill that has earned her a reputation as something of an authority in this area. As well as having many years of experience as a tutor and workshop leader, Issy currently runs two thriving community folk choirs, where her evident enthusiasm, combined with a relaxed and inspiring style, brings out the very best in her singers.
