Every Saturday morning, Weston-super-Mare’s seafront comes alive with one of the UK’s most uplifting community events: parkrun. Whether you’re chasing a personal best or simply fancy a refreshing walk by the coast, this is your invitation to get moving and be part of something special.
What is parkrun?
parkrun is a nationwide free, friendly, weekly 5k event that welcomes everyone. There’s no pressure, no cut-off time, and no expectations – just a supportive atmosphere and a shared goal of getting active.
Walk it, jog it, run it, volunteer, or cheer from the sidelines – it’s completely up to you. What matters is showing up and soaking in the experience.
When and Where?

Set against the backdrop of Weston’s iconic seafront, the course runs along the promenade, offering fresh sea air and fantastic views to keep you motivated every step of the way.
Tip: Conditions like high tides or special events can occasionally affect the route, so it’s worth checking ahead before you set off.
The Course: Fresh Air & Sea Views
The 5k route is run entirely on tarmac along the promenade, making it accessible for all abilities. Expect a mostly flat course with just over two laps between the start area near the bus shelters and Knightstone Slipway.
Along the way, you’ll pass some of Weston’s best-loved seafront spots, with marshals and signage to guide you and cheer you on.
The finish line awaits near the beach steps opposite the old Victorian Café building – perfect for that post-run sense of achievement.

Taking part is simple:
- Register once with parkrun (it’s completely free)
- Bring your scannable barcode each time you attend
- Turn up and enjoy

Getting There
The start line is easy to reach, right on the seafront between the Grand Pier and Revo Kitchen.
- By bus: Just an 8-minute walk from Weston Bus Interchange, with stops along Marine Parade
- By train: Around 15 minutes walk from Weston-super-Mare station
- On foot: Follow signs to the seafront and head towards the start area near the public toilets
- By car: Parking is limited, so arriving early or car-sharing is recommended
