Bristol to Weston-super-Mare
With Weston-super-Mare being the closest place for a day out at the seaside, for generations it has been a popular day-trip for people who live in and around the city of Bristol. People of all ages enjoy a day out in Weston, and it is also enjoyed by schools, clubs and various groups who come to Weston by coach for an outing.
Many regular bus services serve the Bristol to Weston-super-Mare routes, including the X1/W1 Express Service, which takes just 1 hour and 15 minutes, making the resort easily accessible from the city centre, and this service stops in both the town centre and on the seafront.

There are also excellent, direct rail links from Bristol Temple Meads to Weston-super-Mare with a journey time of approximately 30 minutes, which run from roughly 6 a.m. right through until past 11 p.m. every day of the week, and from as little as £6.50 return. Driving from Bristol to Weston-super-Mare couldn’t be more straightforward, it’s main roads, whichever route you take. With a journey time of around half an hour to forty minutes via the A370 or A38 (approximately 22 miles), or a straight run on the M5 to Junction 21, with a new dual carriageway taking you straight to the seafront, it’s a hassle free drive.
The array of fantastic events held in Weston-super-Mare each year, which have most recently included Weston-super-Mare Air Festival, Banksy’s Dismaland, Corona SunSets, CBeebies Big Day Out and South West Live which brought acts including Jason Derulo, Jessie J and Katy B, have seen a rise in day visitors. Add this to Weston-super-Mare being a fantastic, traditional seaside resort that has seen millions of pounds worth of investment over the last few years, then it’s certainly worth a day out!
