Blue Anchor is a wide sandy beach, backed by some shingle and a concrete sea wall. The road runs along the back of the beach with plenty of free bays for parking. Facilities include toilets (with disabled facilities), catering vans in summer, two pubs (Blue Anchor Hotel & the Smugglers), a camping site, B&B's and an ice cream shop / cafe.
Access is either down steps from the sea wall, down a cobbled slipway at the eastern end or a walk across the shingle at the western end. South facing seats built into the sea wall are popular for sunbathing. The West Somerset Railway's station is just a few yards from the beach.
