And here’s something many visitors don’t realise – our famous seafront promenade is lined with benches, making it easy to stop, rest and soak up those incredible views across Weston Bay whenever you like.

Beach Days Without Barriers
One of Weston’s biggest attractions is its vast sandy beach – and thanks to North Somerset Council’s specially designed beach wheelchair, more people can enjoy it than ever before.
Available FREE of charge, the beach wheelchair is designed to help people with mobility difficulties access the sand and enjoy time by the sea.
Simply pre-book your two-hour session and get ready to experience Weston Beach from a whole new perspective.
Now that’s what we call making memories by the seaside!
It’s available to rent for free from the Seafront Office on Marine Parade, BS23 1AL The door to the office is up the wooden ramp decking between the cafe kiosk and toilet block and faces towards the tide.

The beach wheelchair is available to rent for a two-hour session seven days a week between10am and 4pm.
Need a Wheelchair or Mobility Scooter?
If you’re visiting for a day or staying for a week, mobility scooters and wheelchairs can be hired locally through Dalesway Mobility Centre.
It’s a simple way to make exploring the seafront, town centre and local attractions even easier.

Accessible Toilets Across the Resort
From Marine Lake to Uphill, you’ll find a wide network of accessible toilets across Weston-super-Mare, helping you enjoy every part of the coastline with confidence.
Several facilities are accessible using a RADAR key, while others are freely available to use. Locations include:
- The Victorian Cafe on the Promenade by the Grand Pier (30p admission) 9am – 6pm
- Tropicana Building Gents’ and Ladies’ at opposite ends of the building (RADAR Key) 10am – 5pm (mostly only open during weekends and school holidays)
- Marine Lake toilets by the RNLI shop (RADAR Key or 30p admission)
- Weston-super-Mare Railway Station (RADAR Key) Mon-sat 5:30am – 12:15am, Sunday 7am – 12am
- The Sovereign shopping centre off the High Street (free to use) Mon- Sat 9am – 5:30pm, Sunday 10:30am – 4:30pm

What is a RADAR Key?
Did you know one simple key can unlock thousands of accessible toilets across the UK?
The RADAR National Key Scheme helps disabled people access locked accessible facilities nationwide, including several locations across Weston-super-Mare.
You can purchase a key for £3.50 from Weston-super-Mare Library which is located in Weston-super-Mare Town Hall on Walliscote Grove Road, BS23 1UJ. Please note the library is closed on Sundays.
Changing Places Facilities
Weston-super-Mare is proud to offer specialist Changing Places facilities for visitors who need extra space and equipment.
Facilities at Weston Town Hall and The Tropicana include features such as:
- Adult-sized changing benches
- Ceiling hoists
- Height-adjustable wash basins
- Emergency alarm systems
- Spacious layouts designed for dignity and comfort
These facilities help ensure that more people can enjoy a day by the seaside without compromise.

Phone 01934 888 888 to be let into the building through a side, staff entrance. The town hall and library building has large specialist facilities in its Changing Places room, complete with its non-slip floor. The facilities include a hoist to the ceiling, (you will need your own sling), a height adjustable adult-sized bench, a Peninsular toilet, a height-adjustable washbasin and an emergency alarm.

This facility works on a keypad access system. To gain access, please call Expolink on 01249 823 143 and you will be given a code to enter on the keypad next to the door.
