This Aladdin’s Cave of a bead shop was opened by Ann and Paul in 2012. It’s tucked away just a short walk from the seafront and surrounded by restaurants in case you need a break from bead shopping.
If you’re an experienced beader you’ll find yourself in a little heaven. If it’s new to you, you’ll find plenty of help available on everything from making childrens’ elastic bracelets to intricate wirework.
It’s not just for beaders either. Our customers include dolls-house makers, modellers, embroiderers, lacemakers, quilters, knitters, crocheters, fishermen and a taxidermist.
We sell beads made from Chinese and Czech glass, porcelain, metal, semiprecious stones, wood, polymer clay, resin and acrylic; cords made from waxed cotton, jute, hemp and nylon; jewellery pliers from the basic to the unusual, mandrels, gizmos ; beading needles and threads; looms; seed beads; boxes, mats, bags; clasps jump rings, pins, brooch backs, spacers, findings; wires in plain copper, silver plate, gilt plate and many different colours; chains (both premade and by the metre); charms; premade necklaces in plastic, wire and leather; leather and suede cords; cord ends, ribbon ends and probably a few things I’ve forgotten about.
Altogether, there are about 4,500 different things. That is a lot to fit in a small shop (and yes, stocktaking is a nightmare).
It is rather a lot to take in on your first visit, so allow a bit of time.
We try hard to keep our prices sensible: we do nearly all our own importing to keep costs down and we are probably the cheapest (erhem, best value) bead shop in the UK.
Semiprecious stones start at £2.99 for a 16 inch strand Glass pearls are only 99p for a 30 inch strandYou can buy a single earwire for a pennySeed beads start at £1.29 for a 20gm tube
Things you can’t do on the internet
You can’t rummage on the internet! You can rummage here.
Rummage in the Big Bead Basket for acrylic beads – only £1 for a bagful. Ideal for younger children.Rummage in the window display through thousands of strands of glass beads at only 99p each.Rummage on the counter for any odd end-of-line things that we have bagged up to get rid of.
You can’t match colours properly on the internet, but you can in a shop. Similarly, it is a lot easier to work out what things go with what other things.
We won’t badger you, but if you want help, just ask. We’re more than happy to help you pick things, show you how to do things, discuss designs and generally help you enjoy yourself. We won’t try to sell you anything you don’t need or don’t know how to use. If you’re on a budget, let us know and we’ll help you to keep inside it.

How to find us
From the seafront:
head inland from the Grand Pier, up Regent Street. Turn right at Barclays Bank
From the High Street:
get to the middle of the High Street (where the giant carrot-shaped thing is), head for the sea and turn left at Barclays Bank
If you get lost, just give us a call on the shop number and we’ll talk you in like air traffic control.
There are three multistorey car parks in Weston, and we are bang in the middle of them. Whichever you park in you are less than 300 yards away. Just walk South from the Sovereign centre, North from Carlton Street, or West from High Street.
There is disabled parking right outside the shop.
It’s a bit of a tight fit to get a wheelchair through the front door, but once inside there is plenty of space to move around.
