We look forward to seeing you in 2017....
Welcome to the official destination website for the original British seaside resort of Weston-super-Mare on the Somerset coast that has been seeing a revival over the past few years.
Steeped with Victorian history, Weston-super-Mare is located at the gateway to the South West of England, and with visitor numbers to the resort up year-on-year, isn't it time you came to take a look?
Travelling here couldn't be simpler with Weston-super-Mare being easily accessible by road, rail or air. There are easy links from the M5 and M4 corridor, a central train station, and also situated just 15 miles from Bristol Airport. Within close proximity, and again with excellent transport links, you will find Bristol, Cardiff, Taunton and the well known Somerset resorts of Clevedon, Wells, Glastonbury and Street.
Lucky to boast miles of golden sandy beaches, the resort is home to the flagship Grand Pier, the legendary Playhouse Theatre, iconic donkeys, a bustling high street and independent shopping districts, a testing golf course and a growing arts and music scene, making Weston a real up and coming cosmopolitan town.
2017 will also see the arrival of a new multiscreen cinema complex with branded restaurants at the former Dolphin Square development, and much development within the town, with Weston College gaining university status and building a new law faculty at the former Winter Gardens.
The former Tropicana Lido, which hosted Banksy's Dismaland in the summer of 2015, now has a modern cafe, its own programme of theatre events, and is an all-round entertainment space which is now the venue to many of the resort's events throughout the year, including concerts, festivals and a summer funfair. In 2016 a seasonal Visitor Information Centre in the Tropicana Building, which will be open again in 2017 from Easter throughout the main season.
The Beach Lawns and Weston-super-Mare seafront are still home to our most popular events that see tens of thousands of visitors flock to the resort every year, such as Weston Air Festival, Weston Beach Race and Weston Carnival.
Weston-super-Mare offers a variety of holiday accommodation, whether you are looking for hotels, bed and breakfasts, campsites and caravan parks or a self catering break, there will be something to suit your taste and budget whether you wish to be right at the heart of the town or a little further out in the surrounding countryside.
Weston-super-Mare is a year-round visitor destination. It’s a great place to live, work and play and whatever your age, you will find everything you need to have a high-quality holiday.
Why not take a look around and see what's on?
