Explore Bristol, Bath, Taunton and Cardiff

Weston-super-Mare is located centrally, and easily accessible by road and rail, to the cities of Bristol, Bath and Cardiff and the town of Taunton.

Bristol

Just over 20 miles away you will find the historic city of Bristol, voted the best city to live in the UK, with many attractions on offer for all the family to enjoy.

The newly developed Waterfront area hosts sunny and rainy day activities which include At Bristol Science Centre, Bristol Aquarium, The M Shed Museum (free entry) and boat trips on The Bristol Packet.

Dotted along the waterfront you will find an array of cafes, restaurants, clubs and bars offering al fresco dining and a real continental feel!

Just a short distance from the centre are Bristol Museum and Art Gallery, Bristol Zoo Gardens, and an array of shops at the fantastic Cabot Circus, along with cinemas, restaurants and bars. Take advantage of a show at the Bristol Hippodrome or the Colston Hall and make it a full day out experiencing the sights, culture and heritage of this fantastic maritime city.

Famous for Brunel's Suspension Bridge and Temple Meads Station, other places of interest include Cabot Tower and the Red Lodge.  Take the open-top red bus for the sightseeing tour and hop on and off at your leisure.

Bath

Known for its superb buildings and architecture, fantastic shops and very cosmopolitan way of life, Bath is certainly worth a day trip.

With a vibrant bohemian nightlife and theatre scene, continental cafe culture, and attractions which include the famous Roman Baths, Bath Abbey, The Royal Crescent and the Theatre Royal, Bath is a world-renowned visitor destination.

Cardiff

Visible from Weston seafront on a clear day, the city of Cardiff is just across the water and on a direct train route from Weston-super-Mare train station.

Home to Welsh Rugby and The Millennium Stadium (now the Principality Stadium), why not stay in Weston and take the train over to take the hassle out of visiting a major game or event?

A superb retail offering, theatres, entertainment venues, bars, clubs and attractions such as Cardiff Castle, and the very trendy resort of Cardiff Bay, make this vibrant city worth visiting.

Taunton

The town of Taunton lies just 29 miles south of Bristol, home to Somerset Cricket, shops, cafes, theatres, and Vivary Park, which hosts many events throughout the summer.

With a direct train service, it is easily commutable from Weston-super-Mare.

With accommodation in Weston-super-Mare being so reasonable, it is worth considering staying in the resort and taking public transport if you wish to visit any of these places, or attend events there to take the stress out of driving and allowing you to celebrate and enjoy a drink!
