A Cheesy Murder Mystery

Who’s up for a cheesy murder? Experience the thrill of the whodunnit with Hutton Drama Club’s latest show. Two captivating murder mysteries that will keep you guessing until the very end. Plus, to celebrate their 50th anniversary, a bonus mini murder mystery, where you may actually not be guessing until the end! All this in one evening including a cheeseboard supper!

Murder at Tea-time
By Mo Speller. Directed by Peter Foord.

Step into a world of whimsy and wonder at the grand opening of Hatter’s Tea Rooms. Owner Ted Hatter and his manager, Alice, invite their customers to sample some exquisite tea and cakes in a setting inspired by the curious adventures of Lewis Carroll. The opening day features everything from a temperamental pastry chef to a fortune teller ready to read customers’ tea leaves.

However, the festivities take a dark turn when rival tearoom owner Lewis King arrives, stirring up old secrets and bitter resentments. In this interactive murder mystery, the audience is invited to question the suspects and (hopefully!) solve the crime.

Body of the Play
By Eileen Clark. Directed by Peter Foord.

Ever wondered what really happens during a local drama rehearsal? Body of the Play offers a “play within a play” experience. Join a village drama group as they attempt to rehearse their latest thriller but watch closely—the most dangerous drama is happening off-script.

As the demanding director, Paul, tries to manage his cast and a nervous props lady, real-life tensions begin to boil over. Between secret loves and local gossip, the lines between the actors and their characters start to blur. A witty murder mystery where personal grudges are just as deadly as any potato peeler. Don’t miss this chance to see if you can spot the real killer before the final curtain call!

Blame it on the Butler
Adapted and directed by Mark Spiller and Alyx Carter.

Welcome to Highgate Hall for this mini murder mystery! Will you be clever enough to spot the devious criminal? Keep your eyes peeled, your ears open and expect your mouth to fall wide open looking for the hidden clues, because murder is on the menu and it may be in plain sight.
